Today is Trans Parent’s Day, and this goes out to the Parents that don’t kick their children out when they come out to them. This goes out to the parents who believe it when their child says, no, I am this, not that. This goes out to parents who work consistently to get their child’s new name and pronouns correctly, even though they may slip sometimes. This goes out to the parents who don’t send their kids to conversion therapy, nor use god or any religion to deny the fact that their child is trans. This goes out to the parents who have the ball to let their trans child know that they are loved and they will protect these children with all they have. Because, it takes special people to recognize or shift their thought patterns enough to rewire their brain - from the conscious choice every time till it become the subconscious working. It just is…
And it is because of you, parents, that I have hope for future generations of trans/nonbinary/gender nonconforming/fluid children everywhere. Thank you!!
